I hope that you enjoyed your summer. It has been a busy fall at Bryn Mawr College. Planning for our 30th reunion has begun and the 8th President of Bryn Mawr College, Jane Dammen McAuliffe was inaugurated. Please save the dates Friday May 29-Sunday May 31, 2009, for reunion.
Plans are currently underway to welcome the Class of 1979 back to campus. You can look forward to a Step Sing, tours, lectures, updates, catching up with classmates and fun. Of course the planning committee would like your input and thoughts to make this the best possible reunion. To that end, a survey form is enclosed. Please complete and return the form. This form is not a registration form. A program of events with a list of costs, class meeting and dinner information, as well as children’s camp details and any other program information will be mailed to you with a reservation form in April 2009. The reservation form must be returned by mid-May 2009 to guarantee your place at our 30th reunion. Discounts apply for early reservations!
The Alumnae Association estimates that Reunion costs will average $300 per adult, before travel expenses, with reduced-price day rates for locals and those staying off-campus. For those who want to relive dorm life, on-campus housing is available from Friday afternoon through approximately 1PM on Sunday. If you’ve outgrown communal bathrooms and twin-sized cots, discount rooms are available at hotels in the area. Travel discounts are available through Amtrak and Enterprise. Check the reunion website or refer to the enclosed flyer for more information.
Finally, to make all of these great events happen, your class officers need to hear from you! We need ideas, volunteers, and nominations for new officers who can be elected at our class meeting during reunion.
If you can help with reunion, or can take over as a class officer for the next term, please let me know on the enclosed form.
I can’t wait to hear from you and to see everyone at our reunion!
