Spring Letter

2/28/09

Dear Classmate,

I hope that you enjoyed your holidays.  The Reunion Committee has been busily planning our 30th reunion.   Please save the dates Friday May 29-Sunday May 31, 2009, for reunion.

We appreciate all of the reunion surveys that we received.  Based on the responses, you can look forward to a Step Sing, tours, lectures, updates, a dinner with Haverford, catching up with classmates and fun.   At our class meeting we are planning a discussion on our next phase of life as we are now past 50.  The memorial service for our classmates will be included as part of the class meeting.   The Planning Committee felt that it would be appropriate to donate the funds that would have been spent on mementos to memorialize our classmates.   The class will determine how to use the memorial funds at our class meeting.

We are planning a Reunion Book.  Natalie Feilchenfeld and Nancy Snow kindly volunteered to be the Editors.   The Reunion Book Survey form is available online.  Just type this link into your browser: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=nZW6fnf6ui4KQOgrljI0HA_3d_3d.  A hard copy is also enclosed with this mailing.  Please complete the survey by April 8 (paper copies can be mailed to Natalie at 49 Kristie Lane, Jericho, VT 05465). The Reunion Book will be available electronically.  If you would like to receive a printed copy please email Natalie to let her know (feilchen@us.ibm.com) or write to her at the above address.

The Class of 1979 has a 30th Reunion web page.  To catch up on Reunion news access ’79’s page at http://class1979.blogs.brynmawr.edu/.  Patricia Schmid has kindly volunteered to be our Webmistress.

A program of events with a list of costs, class meeting and dinner information, as well as children’s camp details and any other program information will be mailed to you with a reservation form in early April.  The reservation form must be returned by mid-May 2009 to guarantee your place at our 30th reunion.  Discounts apply for early reservations!

The Alumnae Association estimates that Reunion costs will average $300 per adult, before travel expenses, with reduced-price day rates for locals and those staying off-campus.  For those who want to relive dorm life, on-campus housing is available from Friday afternoon through approximately 1PM on Sunday.  If you’ve outgrown communal bathrooms and twin-sized cots, discount rooms are available at hotels in the area.   Travel discounts are available through Amtrak and Enterprise.  Check the reunion website or refer to the enclosed flyer for more information.

I can’t wait to see everyone at our reunion in May!
